Are you in need of an AirSoft gun? But, you are unsure what kinds there are or what kind you need? Well, now you will. Whit a little help and knowledge, you will be set and ready to go AirSoft crazy!

First, figure out what kind of activities you are interested in. Are you simply wanting to do some safe target shooting? Maybe, long range shooting? What about your basic AirSoft games scenarios? Or are you an extremist and get into the world of Airsoft? The answer will help you choose the right AirSoft guns for you.

Gas Guns: Gas, propane, or green gas is used to power the types of guns used in extrema play. Green gas is much more powerful and should be used with care.. as all extrema powered weapons. With a bottle nozzle, you can fill your weapon anywhere..perfect for weekend trips out int he great wide open!

Electric Weapons: These types of guns are best for role play scenarios. If you are playing a game that will last a couple hours, then these guns are perfect. If it plans on going longer, then spring or gas are better choices. Battery powered guns are great for your basic tactical and target shooting, where you have a place to recharge them.

Spring Style guns: Spring guns are great for any occasions. Whether it be tactical training, targets or games. There is no recharging or refilling.. they just go! These types of guns are perfect for training also, with no potential dangerous fillers the children can learn in a safer manner.

How Do You Clean Your AirSoft Gun?

When you are a gun owner you know that you need to clean your guns after every use, right? Well AirSoft guns are no different. When using AirSoft guns, whether using for target practice, gaming, or fun play, you need to make sure that you tend to it as if it were a real gun. Here are some tips to get this done:

1) Why keep your AirSoft gun clean?

Enhanced performance

Maintain/increase accuracy

Reduced jamming

Faster shooting

2) First thing to do before doing any maintenance on your gun is to remove the power source. You will do one of the following:

Dry shoot to confirm it’s not cocked-spring action guns

Remove battery pack-electric guns, or

Disconnect CO2 tank-pressurized gas guns

There is no excuse to not take a few extra minutes to handle your airsoft gun in a safe manner. Take your time and be safe!

Clean the exterior of the airsoft gun:

Wipe clean with a clean non-abrasive cloth

Use cotton swabs for crevices and hard to reach areas.

Clean the magazine of the airsoft gun:

Remove magazine

Clean the magazine the same as the exterior

All moving parts should have a drop of oil added

Replace magazine

Clean the barrel of the airsoft gun:

Turn of hop up system on gun

Spray a .22 cleaning patch with silicone

With patch on rod, insert in into barrel to clean

Use an in and out motion

Swab barrel 3-4 times

Repeat swabbing procedure with a dry patch

When patches come out clean after dry swabbing, you are finished!

Hint- There are gun-cleaning kits available.

After cleaning your gun, be sure to have a few trial shots before going out on the field to play. After cleaning, your gun may perform better and you don’t want to wait to find out in the field after a few bad shots that you need to adjust your shooting!

Happy Gaming from AirCraz!

AirSoft rules of Engagement!

Age Requirements

You must be at least 16 years of age to participate in an AirSoft event.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
ANSI approved eyewear is REQUIRED while in the game field at all times. Other suggested (but not required) PPE are: mouth-guards, face masks, gloves, etc.

Ammunition Restrictions

All weapons on the field will have ammunition restrictions unless otherwise stated in weapons
classes. One high capacity magazine allowed on you at a time. High-caps must be reloaded at spawn only. Unlimited mid or low capacity magazines which may be reloaded in the field.

Weapons Classes

Weapons classes are designed to add realism into our Airsoft games. Each class has a specific
maximum power rating and minimum engagement distance. These engagement distances are
FIRM, since there are no surrenders. If you intend to or think you might be engaged under your
minimum distance for your AEG, you must draw a secondary weapon or knife, or if you do not have those, you must withdraw and re-engage.

Code of Conduct

1. RESPECT
AirSoft teams considers respect key in having fun and enjoyable game days for all involved.
Operators will be expected to treat ALL other players/teams with the same respect
that we give to members of our own team. No matter the circumstances, situation,
or individual involved.

2. INTEGRITY
Airsoft can never be a fully competitive sport. The fact that you can’t physically tell if
you hit your opponent in most cases makes the previous statement true.
Competition can be achieved with Airsoft, but only if all people involved have a
similar level of integrity when it comes to the game rules. If we are to achieve
victory, we will do it with training, tactics, and teamwork; not by cheating. So in
order to win with teamwork or tactics it is vital that all operators play with honesty.
If you are shot, no matter how light it might feel you MUST call it. If you see another
operator take a hit that he might not have felt, it is your duty to let him know.

3. SAFETY
Operators who attend our events will be expected to make safety a top priority. This
includes personal safety, and the safety of all other participants. We are all
responsible for each other during our Airsoft events. Operators will be required to
observe their surroundings to be fully aware of any immediate dangers at all times.
Operators will be expected to NEVER compromise their own personal safety in order
to accomplish any game-related task or objective. Water is also required to be on all
operators during Airsoft games.

Any infringement to the AirSoft Code of Conduct can be grounds for
immediate dismissal from the team or event.

Personal Reviews:

AEG Galil short assault rifle (SAR)

A replica of Israeli Weapon Industries’ rifle used not only in Israel but in some other countries over the world.

The first impression of having in hands this airsoft Glilon (the Israeli army nickname for SAR version) is that it is for those keen of being as close to the reality as possible.  The gun’s weight is about the same as of the real prototype, and not only that, it looks very real.  That’s due to its whole metal body and  colour.

What should be noted specially is the dioptrical site system which is identical to that of the real gun.  And I’d say it’s probably the best site of all AEGs’.  The front sight is adjustable up/down (in the package comes a tool for easy rotating it), left/right, the rear sight has two positions + two dots for night aiming (the front one is also equipped with night mark).  That all allows for precise shooting adjustment of the gun.  An experienced airsoft soldier will enjoy playing with the aiming devices of this gun.

And I tell you there is what to aim for!  The gun is specified to shoot about 460 fps with 0.12 BBs,  when using 0.2 g BBs I got the reading of 110 meters per second (360 fps).  Although it could be more, or one could expect such a solid gun to be even stronger (again for fans of heavy combat and real-world-like skirmishing) .

This AEG Glilon comes with a chargeable (wheeled spring) round metal (!) magazine, some players prefer to carry amount of rounds equal to that of a real soldier in field (up to 200)  but even for those not limiting themselves with ammunition per battle the 430 round magazine will be an adequate asset.  When firing single shots the spring charge of the magazine allows quite a few BBs without recharging, while automatic shooting due to adequately high rate quickly depletes the current charge…

The real Galil (design of which is based on AK-47) as an advantage over its elder brother and all AKs has a fire selector switch duplicated right above the ‘pistol’ grip, which is very convenient and is a remarkable ergonomic improvement.  May be one day a manufacturer of airsoft Galil will make an operational second selector, for now all known airsoft Galils have only fake ones.

Galils have no wooden parts, though for someone it may be a disadvantage?  The hand grip is made of dark plastic same color as the metal parts.

In general it is a heavy, accurate and serious gun.  The rifle feels very masculine (sorry ladies may be you stick to lighter MA4s with adjustable stock?).   Its look is nice, easily recognizable among many others, and stylish (perhaps Israeli weapon engineers pay particular attention to appearance of their inventions?).

Not the best side of this gun (although it may pertain to all metal and not fully metal AEGs) is that their metal is not quite metal really…  most of AEGs are manufactured using “powder” steel which results in parts being quite fragile.  Unfortunately this Galil is not an exception.  And the fact that the stock of it which got torn away at the very first run with the gun in hands (the holding thread in the back end of the body failed to hold the screw) shows how vulnerable “powder” metal is.  One only has to hope that the mechanism and the gears are of better quality metal.

Although the first drop against the ground Galil passed perfectly, which is not accessible to some AEGs…

ilya
